Extract from Personal Records Database (BRP)

In the Personal Records Database (BRP), your personal data are recorded. Such as address and citizen service number (BSN).

What you need to know

  • Do you need proof of birth, death, marriage, or divorce? Then you have to request a civil status certificateexterne-link-icoon (page is in Dutch).
  • Are you not sure which document you need? Contact the organization requiring the document to avoid issues and unnecessary costs.
  • Request the BRP extract from the municipality where you live.

For whom you can request an extract?

  • Yourself.
  • Your child under 16 years old living with you.
  • Someone authorized by you using the authorization form (see how to request).

Types of extracts

Standard

Address history, name, date of birth, address, place of residence.

Citizen service number (BSN) 

Citizen service number, name, date of birth, place of birth, address, place of residence.

International

Available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Turkish. Includes registration date, name, place of birth, date of birth, marital status, nationality, address, and parents.

Personal Records Database (BRP) authority for traveling with minors

Includes the child’s personal data (with place of birth) and the caregiver’s data. Available in Dutch and English.

As a parent, you log in with your DigiD and can then indicate in the application for which child you are requesting the extract. If this is for multiple children, you must submit separate applications.

How to request

  • Please indicate clearly in the form under 'Additional information' which information you need or for which you need an extract. For example: standard extract + nationality + number of people at address.
  • Would you like to have it sent to a different address? Please indicate this under 'Additional information'.
  • We will send the extract to your home address within 5 working days.

  • Copy of valid passport, ID card or driver's license.
  • Citizen service number (BSN).

Someone else can also request a BRP extract for you. You must then authorize that person.
