Bicycle parking Grote Markt and Nieuwe Markt
On and around the Grote Markt and Nieuwe Markt, bicycles may only be parked in bicycle racks or special bicycle sections. Otherwise your bike may be removed. You can also park your bicycle in the bicycle storage Grote Markt or Nieuwe Markt. These parking facilities are free and always open.
Rules
The following rules apply in the area around the Grote Markt and Nieuwe Markt:
- Only park your bicycle, moped or scooter in a designated section, rack or storage.
- Bicycles in places that are a obstructive or dangerous can be removed.
- Bicycles in racks or sections may be parked in the same place for a maximum of 4 weeks. The bicycle can be removed after 4 weeks.
- Do you ride an adapted bicycle and do you use it as an aid? Then you can request a bicycle sticker. This allows you to park your bicycle in the areas in the city center where bicycle parking is prohibited. Make sure that you park your bicycle in such a way that it does not bother others.

Lost your bike?
Has your bike been removed? Then you can pick up your bicycle for free within 24 hours at the bicycle depot on Damsterplein (Google Maps).
After 24 hours, your bicycle will be taken to the AFAC Bicycle Depot on Travertijnstraat next to number 2 (open: Mondays to Fridays from 12:00 to 17:00 hours). Bicycles that have been parked in the same place for more than 4 weeks will be brought here immediately.
