For non-Dutch EU residents and for candidates who wish to participate in the elections. The next European Parliament election is on Thursday 23 May 2019 in the Netherlands.
If you are an EU citizen but do not have Dutch nationality, you will receive an application form by post. You can use this form to indicate that you wish to vote in the Netherlands. You must send the completed declaration to the municipality of Groningen before 9 April 2019. You can also download and complete the form yourself. Please read the explanation on the form carefully.
Send the form with a copy of your proof of identity to email@example.com, or send it by post (stamp not required) to: Gemeente Groningen, Antwoordnummer 225, 9700 VB Groningen.
If you want to vote in the European elections in your country of origin, you do not have to take any action unless you’ve previously registered in the Netherlands. You can request information about this from the municipality.
The nomination of candidates for the election of the members of the European Parliament will be on Tuesday 9 April 2019. On this day, you can hand in candidate lists from 9.00am to 3.00pm at the central polling station (the Electoral Council). The Electoral Council is located in the Zurichtoren, Muzenstraat 85, 2511 WB in The Hague.
- You can download the forms from kiesraad.nl. Political parties can use the Supporting Software for Elections (Ondersteunende Software Verkiezingen (OSV)) for making candidate lists and the other forms.
