Innovative schools concept
Groningen has the Netherlands' first 'Vensterschools' for children aged up to fifteen years. This is a school concept offering extended school hours, childcare facilities and considerable parent involvement. The schools also serve as neighbourhood centres and advice agencies, and have proved very successful with children, parents and local residents alike.
