City Twinning

Groningen has partner cities all over the world. These can be found in countries ranging from Russia to Nicaragua having very new relationships with our city or ties going back to just after the Second World War. The partnerships are based on friendship, trade or foreign aid. The partner cities in the North East Corridor - a network of urban regions on the line from Amsterdam to Saint Petersburg – get much attention. Groningen is undertaking all kinds of projects together with its partner cities and many mutual visits are taking place.
