Municipal Executive

The municipal executive consists of the Mayor and the aldermen. The municipal executive is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the city and is led by the joint four-year municipal programme.

The Mayor is appointed by the Queen. The aldermen are appointed by the municipal council based on the number of representatives elected from each party. The Mayor and aldermen are each responsible for a number of policy areas.
